At the very beginning of our stay, we walked to the Eiffel Tower. Although there was a Christmas market, and a lot of people, I wanted to do a little photo series. It was the first time to see so closely with its lights. There are two different series: colors and, black and white. Those are the same pictures in color but hesitating between the two, I decided to let you judge by yourself.

Some families do their Christmas on the 24th evening, and others 25th. In Chéri's family, it's on Christmas Eve unlike my family. It does not bother me. This was my second Christmas with them and I knew how it goes: Christmas Mass, opening gifts for children - Father Christmas came when we were in the church - aperitif followed by dinner. Openings gifts for the guests. Then the last openings in select committee. As much last year, going to Christmas mass was a first for me, and I loved that moment. As much this year, I had no special desire to go, but by love, I followed Chéri. I would have preferred to just help his mother, Agnes, to care for her youngest grand-children.Was it because there were oddballs who do not respect the fact of being in a worship? That is to say, a person who leaves his phone rang twice ... Either we put it on silent or turn it off. Then, it was the priest who had asked him to do so. Then another one who was going and coming back ...Then the sermon was long.Fortunately, there was the evening after to save all!

Donc voici quelques photos.

As silly as it may seem when I had seen the posters in subway stations announcing this exhibition, I wanted to go see it. The first to discover a Japanese artist, the second because several artists such as Delacroix, Gustave Doré, Goya, etc. illustrated fantastic. I was curious to discover their work about it.
So here are some pictures.

Fantastique ! Kuniyoshi : Le démon de l'estampe /  Demon of print

Visitors to the Petit Palais are invited to discover, for the first time in France, the work of the extraordinary artist, Kuniyoshi (1797-1861). Thanks to generous loans from Japan, supplemented by loans from French institutions, the 250 works on display will give a full picture of Kuniyoshi’s dramatic genius and the expressive beauty of his work. The exhibition will explain the function of the imagery and its importance in Japanese culture. Kuniyoshi’s work has had an enormous influence on manga art and tattooing.*

Fantastique ! L'estampe visionnaire, de Goya à Redon /

Fantastic! Visionary print, from Goya to Redon

The Petit Palais is host to the French National library (Bibliothèque nationale de France) to celebrate, for the first time and on a grand scale, the terrifying world of visionary, ‘gothic-fantasy’ prints. More than 170 works from Goya to Redon, including prints by Delacroix and Gustave Doré will introduce the visitor to this important aspect of 19th century engravings and lithographs. It is the world of the macabre, of gothic bestiaries, haunted landscapes, images from dreams and nightmares – the triumph of darkness! *

A bit of humor if you can see it. If I remember right it was called the Doctor's nighmare.
